Sostenes Peter Manyama, on trial for rape and murder of a young girl, accused the prosecutor of conspiring with his girlfriend because they are the same race.

The Western Cape High Court is hearing a disturbing case involving a little girl who "fell down the stairs" of the duplex of the man she thought was her father.
The child, four-year-old Linathi Solontyi, never woke up, and after she died, her "father", Sostenes Peter Manyama, and his girlfriend, Rhodeesia Kampher, were charged with murder when doctors saw her little body was covered with old and new unexplained injuries.
Both pleaded not guilty to murder and Manyama - a shuttle driver and panel beater originally from Tanzania - to the additional charge of rape.
