The ANC-led eThekwini council survived a motion to dissolve it on Wednesday.
The DA has failed in its bid to dissolve the eThekwini council.
Tabling the motion, DA caucus leader councillor Thabani Mthethwa said if councillors were "selfless" they would resign.
He said political parties accused the DA of scoring political points when it wanted a fresh start for the City.
