The formation of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) and its endorsement by former president Jacob Zuma has given opposition parties, including the DA, hope that the ANC’s days in government are numbered.
The DA believes that the MKP has devoured the ANC support ahead of the national elections. Zuma’s departure from the ANC to launch MKP, and the formation of the Multi-Party Charter by the opposition parties were key elements in ensuring that the ANC would fall below 50%, the DA said at its election manifesto launch in Pretoria yesterday.
