The ANC remains the best to take the country forward, to unite it and learn from its mistakes, even in the Western Cape where the party is highly insignificant.

That's according to Cameron Dugmore, who leads the ANC in the Western Cape legislature – an institution where the ANC has become politically irrelevant.

Speaking during a debate on election manifestos, hosted by the DG Murray Trust in Cape Town, several parties debated their manifestos ahead of the general election in May.
