Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of missing Pretoria-based journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli.
The pair went missing in February under mysterious circumstances.
The couple was last seen in separate locations on 18 February – Mdhluli at their home in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, and Ndlovu leaving Capital FM SA, which he ran from a Denlyn Mall booth in Mamelodi, Gauteng.
No one has heard from or seen them since.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the case has been updated from a missing persons case to a kidnapping and car hijacking case after three of the suspects were allegedly found in possession of vehicle parts supposedly from Ndlovu's car.
According to police investigations, the first suspect arrested was the last person known to have been with the missing couple.
"The second, third, and fourth suspects that have been arrested were found with different vehicle parts believed to belong to the missing journalist," Mathe said.

Mathe said one of those arrested is believed to be a mechanic who builds and repairs cars in the KwaMhlanga area. She said two VW Citi Golfs found in the suspect's possession were seized.
"One suspect is expected to appear before the Mamelodi Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, 06 May 2025. Three others are expected to appear later in the week before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate's Court," she said.
"Additional charges such as house robbery and being in possession of stolen property are likely to be added."
Mathe said the search for the missing couple and other suspects was ongoing.
"This is a developing case," she said.
