Four men believed to be behind the murder of a 48-year-old woman and her 22-year-old daughter were killed during a shootout with police in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said officers intercepted the suspects' vehicle when they were believed to be on their way to perform cleansing rituals in Mpophomeni, in the Midlands Region.
Netshiunda said police signalled the vehicle's driver to stop when they approached the Eskebheni area in uMzinyathi.
