A CCTV operator for eThekwini Municipality was arrested for alleged theft, vandalism and sabotage.

An official at the Umgungundlovu District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal was arrested on Tuesday morning for electricity theft after she allegedly reconnected the power supply at her Pietermaritzburg home.
The communications official, Mbeko Nzimande, 44, was arrested by police after she allegedly used her influence as a public official to reconnect her supply.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said Alexandra Road police arrested Nzimande for theft and tampering with infrastructure.
