Limpopo musician Makhadzi is recovering in hospital after an accident.

Award-winning Limpopo singer Makhadzi is under close observation in the hospital after she was involved in a car accident while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.

In a statement by Makhadzi Entertainment, the star’s management said the accident happened on the morning of 31 December.

Her condition is said to be stable.

The management team appealed for privacy for the artist and her family.

“At this time, the priority is her recovery and well-being,” the team said in the statement.

The crash came after the Ghanama hitmaker clinched a win at the recently held South African Music Awards and gave a stellar closing performance.

Further updates on her condition will be communicated through official channels when appropriate, the team added, before thanking supporters, partners and the media for their support, concern and understanding.

The accident comes months after popular musician Kharishma, also from Limpopo, was involved in an accident on 31 October 2025.
