Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo has warned the ANC of a "growing exclusive nationalism within the ANC, based on descent, and linguistic and geographical origin".
"The use of these criteria to gain political power is worrying," he said at a recent OR Tambo memorial lecture in Makhado, Limpopo, for the ANC Youth League.
In his speech, of which City Press published an edited version, Masondo added Oliver Tambo stood for "unity to end all forms of human oppression and divisions based on race, ethnicity, class and other irrelevant attributes".
