The Mpumalanga Department of Health will institute disciplinary action against a doctor who allegedly stole medication and equipment worth R50 000 from Middelburg Hospital.
Health department spokesperson Chris Nobela said a hospital security guard who searched the 31-year-old doctor's car after her shift on Friday alerted authorities about the alleged theft.
Police spokesperson Captain Magonseni Nkosi said the doctor allegedly hid stolen equipment in her car boot and failed to answer why she had the equipment and medication in her possession.
