An earthquake has been detected in Gauteng.
Johannesburg residents experienced a tremor on Tuesday night after an earthquake was recorded in Soweto.
The Council for Geosciences confirmed that an earthquake occurred at around 20:54.
"The preliminary results show that the earthquake registered a local magnitude of approximately 3.4, as recorded by the South African Seismograph Network (SANSN).
