A number of towns in the Central Karoo are without power.

One person died during a massive power outage affecting multiple Western Cape towns in the Central Karoo.
During a media briefing on Wednesday, Premier Alan Winde said it appeared the death could be linked to the inhalation of fumes after a generator was turned on to power a small shop.
