The Hawks arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the theft at President Cyril Ramaphosa's farm after he handed himself over to authorities in Bela-Bela on Thursday.

He was expected to appear alongside Namibian nationals Imanuwela David and Froliana Joseph in the Bela-Bela Magistrate's Court on Friday.

They are accused of stealing $580 000 (roughly R10 million at the time) from Ramaphosa's Phala Phala farm in 2020.

The Hawks arrested David and Joseph in Bela-Bela and Rustenburg on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

They appeared in court on Tuesday on charges of robbery and theft.

David faces an additional charge of money laundering. They remain in police custody.

The court heard that Joseph has an infant child who needs to be breastfed. The magistrate ordered police to bring the child from home, so she could be fed.

Joseph's two brothers, who declined media interviews, were present in court.

Mashudu Malaba-Dzangi, the spokesperson for the NPA in Limpopo, said David and two others had mistakenly entered Stokkiesdraai farm, instead of Phala Phala, on 8 January 2020.

The group allegedly broke into the farm before successfully locating Phala Phala the following night.
