ANC politician Andile Lili.
The ANC's Andile Lili, who has narrowly escaped jail time on a few occasions, could have his membership revoked by the Western Cape legislature.
Lili has been absent from 32 house sittings and from the legislature for most of 2023, but still earned a hefty salary.
In a letter sent to Lili in December, the Speaker, Daylin Mitchell, wrote: "According to the official record of attendance of the house (plenary sittings), you have been absent for more than 15 consecutive working days without the required leave."
