The South African Weather Service has forecast partly cloudy conditions in the country's east, with isolated showers and thundershowers. Otherwise, fine conditions and hot to warm temperatures elsewhere. 

Fire danger warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the Northern Cape, the central and western part of the Free State, and part of North West.

Advisory

A heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places over the escarpment and the Lowveld of Limpopo until Saturday, as well as over the central and eastern parts of the Free State and the North West, Gauteng, the extreme north-eastern parts of Northern Cape, and central parts of the Northern Cape from Sunday until Tuesday.

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and hot with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Cloudy conditions can be expected in the east of Mpumalanga. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy with warm to hot but very hot temperatures over the Lowveld, where isolated showers and thundershowers are forecast in the afternoon, except in the Lowveld and northern escarpment.

Limpopo can expect fine conditions in the west during the morning. Otherwise, partly cloudy with hot to very hot conditions and isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the Western Bushveld and in the south.

Fine temperatures are forecast for the North West. It will become partly cloudy with hot to very hot temperatures and isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers, except in the west.

The Free State will be cloudy with morning fog patches in the east at first. Otherwise, fine conditions are forecast, becoming partly cloudy with hot to very hot temperatures and isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east.

Fine and hot to very hot conditions are expected in the Northern Cape, except in the north where it will be extremely hot. Cloudy conditions are forecast in the west during the morning.

Elsewhere, the province can expect a cloudy morning, becoming fine and warm later.

The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming moderate to fresh south-easterly in the afternoon.

The Western Cape is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy over the south and eastern parts during the morning.

Otherwise, it will be fine with warm to hot temperatures, but cool in places along the south and south-western coastal areas.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly along the west coast. Otherwise, light and variable winds are forecast. They will become a light to moderate south-easterly along the south coast from early morning until the evening.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

Morning and evening fog is forecast in parts of the western half of the Eastern Cape. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming a moderate south-easterly from late morning.

The eastern half of the province will have morning and evening fog in places along and south of the escarpment.

Otherwise, it will befine and warm to hot, but cloudy conditions are expected along the coast.

Drizzle may be possible along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior in the morning.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect morning fog over the interior. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north.

The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly, becoming moderate easterly to north-easterly from the south in the mid-morning, spreading to the north in the afternoon.
