Former Drakenstein Local Municipality mayor Conrad Poole is now a member of the Western Cape legislature. (Melinda Stuurman/Netwerk24)

Former Drakenstein Local Municipality mayor Conrad Poole, who was ousted through a motion of no confidence two weeks ago, has taken a seat in the Western Cape legislature. 

Poole was sworn in last week.

The seat became vacant after the abrupt exit of former senior DA member Dan Plato last month.
