DA leader John Steenhuisen delivers the party's election manifesto in Pretoria.

Increased social grants, lower cost of private healthcare, and doing away with the Hawks to establish a new anti-corruption commission ... these are just some of the proposals the DA plans to implement the day it gets into the Union Buildings – if it wins the 2024 general election.

The DA held its manifesto rally over the weekend, with about 15 000 supporters from across the country descending on the lawns of the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

The party promised to increase the child support grant from R510 to R760 per month – an extra R250 per recipient.
