The South African Police Service (SAPS) appointed Major-General Maropeng Johanna Mamothethi as the new divisional commissioner of visible policing and operations.
On Friday, the national police commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, announced the appointment of two officers to vacant positions at SAPS headquarters in Parktown.
The other position sees Major-General Tommy Mthombeni assume the role of Gauteng's provincial commissioner.
