Police have launched a manhunt for two men who violently assaulted a woman at a tavern in Pietermaritzburg earlier this week.
In a video circulating on social media, captured by the tavern’s CCTV cameras, two men are seen attacking the woman at the establishment.
They are seen striking her in the face before pushing her to the ground. One of the men then proceeds to kick the woman on the torso while she is lying on her back and unleashes a barrage of punches to her face while sitting on her chest.
A patron attempts to intervene by pulling the attacker off the woman, but another man who appears from the background is seen assaulting the patron before turning his attention to the female and continuing to kick her in the head.

The two men then halt the attack and appear to leave the scene, but return seconds later, with the initial attacker kicking and punching the complainant numerous times before his accomplice pulls him away and the pair flee the tavern.
The assault lasts for more than a minute, during which patrons are seen scattering in different directions.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza said no arrests had been made and that a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm was under investigation.
“Police are searching for the suspects seen in the CCTV footage and investigations are ongoing,” he added.
