
A 38-year-old man has been shot dead and a two-year-old boy wounded in Fordsburg, Johannesburg, on Tuesday.

Gauteng police have tasked their Tracing Team with locating two suspects allegedly involved in a shooting that left a 38-year-old man dead and a two-year-old boy wounded in Fordsburg, Johannesburg, on Tuesday.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the suspects approached the victim, with one allegedly firing several shots while the man was holding the toddler.
The suspects then fled the scene in a dark-coloured Mazda 2.

Masondo said paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene, while the child was rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for a gunshot wound.
Police have opened a murder and attempted murder case, with the motive for the shooting still under investigation.
