Freitag's body, which had gunshot wounds, was discovered near the Zandfontein cemetery in Andeon, Pretoria.

He was last seen by his family on 17 June when, according to Rapport, a man picked him up at his mother's house in Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria.

Netwerk24 previously reported that, when Freitag visited his mother, he got a job offer that would pay R60 000. It was, however, alleged that only R6 000 was paid because the job was not carried out in line with what was requested.
