Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) management has provided hundreds of stranded students with accommodation around the city amid a residency crisis.
Left without a place to stay, several students have been squatting at the Bellville campus since the end of January. They moved into the student hall while they waited for feedback.
But on Tuesday, things took a turn for the worse.
