Over the past few years, we have moved toward a tipping point where enterprises across the world have looked to leverage technology holistically to transform their business models. We have seen digital transformation move from the front or edge of the organization to deep into the core. At the same time, technologies such as AI, automation, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, 5G and quantum computing have reached a level of maturity that can be leveraged at scale to drive real impact on business outcomes. As we place this revolution in the context of an increasingly virtual world, we see even more power arising from the ecosystems, digital workflows, and networked organizations that are made possible. The Virtual Enterprise is emerging, supported by a “Golden Thread” of value that animates the enterprise and binds ecosystem participants.
Join IBM Institute for Business Value’s (IBV) Christopher Nowak and Karen Butner, among IBV’s top experts on Virtual Enterprise, for a discussion of technology’s transformative effects on global business models of enterprise - as it has created new growth opportunities and fresh benchmarks of cost and efficiency.

EPSRC considers what the world would be like without mathematical sciences research
#Mathematics is the language of #science, without it we wouldn't be able to measure or make anything. It provides the foundation for everything from money, to housing and roads, to hospitals and food production, to #internet and defence.
Every advance in science has had mathematics at its core. From systems that ensure smooth traffic flow and safer air travel, to the algorithms behind cyber security, and the technology in our smartphones.
Because the world is underpinned by mathematical patterns and structures. Mathematics delivers real world impact in its own right.
EPSRC researchers have been using techniques like data analysis modelling and optimisation to help improve many services we use and take for granted in everyday life.

Explore some of the most famous arguments in the ancient debate: is math a human construct or part of the fabric of the universe?
--
Would mathematics exist if people didn't? Did we create mathematical concepts to help us understand the world around us, or is math the native language of the universe itself? Jeff Dekofsky traces some famous arguments in this ancient and hotly debated question.

This video covers a summary of the book "how to excel at math and science." Whether you are a high school student struggling with math and science, or a college student studying engineering, math, physics, etc and are doing well, the techniques taught are meant for you.
Becoming strong in math and science is not something that happens over night. You need to consistently be practicing and studying while using the tips talked about in the book.
Two modes of thinking to remember include focused mode and diffuse mode thinking. These are where you are focused intensely on a problem, then when you let your mind wander and are more relaxed respectively. In order to excel in subjects that especially involve creativity, you need to participate in both forms of thinking.
Some tips to help avoid procrastination include trying the Pomodoro technique, focusing on the process over the product, do the most disliked jobs first, and use mental contrasting. Remember you can't learn math and science on a deep level in one night. It's important you focus on learning a little everyday and don't put off homework until the last minute because your brain won't be able to learn absorb all the material on an optimal level.
