The founding father of the Namibian Republic, Sam Nujoma, has always been hailed as a man with a deep passion for politics and a yearning to see his people free from oppression.

The 95-year-old anti-Apartheid activist was born in 1929.

Nujoma served as the Namibian president for 15 years from 1990 to 2005.
